Both our historic farm, which includes stables and barns, and our beautiful new farm lie above San Candido on the Monte San Candido and are surrounded by meadows and forests.
The original Pircherhof was first mentioned in the sixteenth century. It has an untypical gable (facing the valley) and is without doubt one of the oldest farms in San Candido and the Upper Val Pusteria. The Pircherhof is named after the Pircher family, who owned the farm for over 200 years until the end of the nineteenth century.
The land around the Pircherhof has always been and still is farmed. In 1976 the farm was connected by an access road. At the beginning of the 1980s the farm was renovated and equipped with central heating and a bathroom. In the following years the stables and barns were also renovated. In 2015 the upper area was entirely renovated and equipped with 2 ecological holiday apartments.
The current main building, a Klimaholzhaus, a climate-controlled log house in which our family lives, was built in 2006. There are also 3 holiday apartments on the upper floors. All of our apartments were designed with natural building materials to provide a pleasant, healthy living environment. There is a children's play area and barbecue pit nearby. We are around 3km from the village centre (5 minutes by car). Guests can reach the village by foot via a path across the fields in around 15 minutes.
The mountain road is well maintained, even in winter, so even heavy snowfall does not present a problem.
The Pircherhof offers a wide range of walks and hikes. There are several popular ski resorts nearby: the Rocca dei Baranci near San Candido, the Monte Elmo near Versciaco and the Roda di Vaèl near Sesto.
The Plan de Corones near Brunico and the Cortina d' Ampezzo are also around 35 minutes away.
